How do you like your Ring? Do you like it … cheap?
At this very moment, you can buy two classic Ring Cycles in mp3 format at Amazon for mind-bogglingly ridiculous prices:
The 1953 live from Bayreuth recording conducted by Clemens Krauss. This is a mono recording and in my opinion is the greatest Ring recording ever made, standing out amidst Solti, Böhm, Fürtwangler and the stereo Keilberth set on Testament. And it’s currently priced at $11.98!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 1952 Keilberth recording, also live from Bayreuth. Not to be confused with his 1955 stereo cycle mentioned above (a great, awesome, important set). I prefer the Krauss, but your mileage may vary and this will not disappoint, and it’s also $11.98.
If I tried to explain, it would probably change the universe too much so I’ll leave it alone. Don’t know how long these prices will last, so hurry.
